Biography of Musica Bella Orchestra guest Karl Watson

Organist Karl Watson was born in rural Michigan and was educated at the Curtis Institute and at the Schola Cantorum, Paris. While in France, he studied with Marcel Dupré.
      As a church musician, he has served Presbyterian, Methodist, Episcopal, Lutheran, and Roman Catholic Churches in Philadelphia, Pompano Beach, Lexington (Kentucky), Staten Island, and Manhattan. During the years 1985-2002, he conducted a Staten Island community chorus that performed many of the major works of the choral repertoire, including an annual performance of Handel’s Messiah. Since 2004, he has been Music Director of St. Raymond’s Church, Parkchester.
