Biography of Musica Bella Orchestra guest Manami Mizumoto

Manami Mizumoto, now twelve, started studying the violin at the age of three and a half ¬≠under Kristin Krauss at the School for Strings in New York. She was accepted at the ¬≠Special Music School in New York City in September 2000. She currently is a sixth-grader, studying the violin under Viktor Basis. Manami has performed in many functions through her school, both as soloist and in a chamber ensemble. She has won the Lucy Moses/Special Music School Concerto Competition and thus performed Viotti’s Concerto No. 22 (first movement) with an orchestra in January 2006. In March 2007, she won first prize in the Wagner College Young Musician’s Competition and will be in the finals on May 19, 2007.
