Biography of Musica Bella Orchestra member Anne Mette Iversen

Danish jazz musician, bassist and composer Anne Mette Iversen has been living and performing in New York City since 1998. She has a BFA degree in jazz performance from Mannes Conservatory/The New School University, and studied classical piano at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Denmark. She has toured Europe, Brazil, and Greenland with various groups, and has performed at prominent festivals as a member of an international all-star jazz sextet, “April,” led by Japanese pianist Aki Takase. She has recorded as a sideman in many different settings, from modern jazz to singer-songwriter Nina Nastasia’s newly recorded album for Touch and Go Records. Her current projects include a CD of her original compositions set to modern Danish poetry, and a collection of new settings of Danish hymns and psalms for jazz quintet.
