Biography of Musica Bella Orchestra member Michael Ishii

Michael Ishii, horn, a native of Seattle, is a graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory (BM) and the Juilliard School (MM) where his principal teachers included Robert Fries, James Chambers, and Julie Landsman. He is currently a freelance artist in the metropolitan New York City area and has performed with numerous regional and national symphonic and chamber ensembles including: The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Orpheus, Partita, Amerigo, The Orchestra of St. Luke’s, The American Symphony Orchestra, The Chautauqua Symphony, The EOS Ensemble, The Opera Orchestra of New York, The San Francisco Ballet, and The Pacific Northwest Ballet. He has also been active as a musician in a number of Broadway musical orchestras and he has recorded on the Delos, Nonesuch, Angel, Arabesque, and Universal labels.
