Biography of Musica Bella Orchestra member Alok Dutt

Alok Dutt has been playing the violin since the age of seven. Most of his musical training was received in the UK, first with John Varney and subsequently with Barry Haskey of the BBC Symphony Orchestra. Alok has been the recipient of several national awards and was principal violinist of the National Youth Orchestra and the Cambridge University Symphony Orchestra, where he majored in mathematics, and was awarded a music scholarship. Since moving to New York in 2001, he has been performing regularly with orchestras and chamber groups here. He is also an excellent pianist. When he is not playing music, he can be found at the offices of his employer, Morgan Stanley, where he is a specialist in financial modeling.
