Biography of Musica Bella Orchestra member Clare Detko

Clare Detko, violin, began her musical training in the school music program in Westchester, New York, and studied privately with Peggy Klinger of Chappaqua. She played two seasons with the Downeast Chamber Orchestra, associated with the Preparatory Division of the Manhattan School of Music, which included a concert at the White House. In college, she played with the Purchase College Orchestra at SUNY Purchase. Since college, she has participated in several chamber music groups and orchestras in the Westchester area. In June 2000, she participated in a concerto workshop in which she performed the last movement of the Beethoven Violin Concerto, accompanied by the Concerto Soloists of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Within the past several years, she has been a member of orchestras in New York, including Broadway Bach and the New York Repertory Orchestra. She recently completed her second season as concertmistress of the New York Repertory Orchestra.
